Terms & Conditions – T & T Auctions Ltd

These Terms & Conditions govern all business conducted with T & T Auctions Ltd (“the Auctioneer”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and apply to both buyers and vendors (sellers). By participating in our auctions, consigning items, or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. General

T & T Auctions Ltd operates as an independent philatelic and numismatic auction house. We specialise in the sale of stamps, coins, and related collectibles.

We are members of the Philatelic Traders Society (PTS) and adhere to their strict code of ethics in all transactions.

All auctions are conducted in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.

2. Buyer Terms

2.1 Buyer’s Premium

A buyer’s premium of 15% plus VAT is added to the hammer price of all lots.

2.2 Registration

All bidders must register prior to participating in any auction. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel registrations at our discretion.

2.3 Bidding Methods

Bids may be placed:

• Online via the Easy Live Auction platform

• By telephone (subject to availability)

• By commission (absentee bidding)

2.4 Telephone Bidding

• Telephone bids must be booked no later than 5:00 PM on the day prior to the auction

• Bidders must provide both a primary and secondary contact number

• We will endeavour to contact you approximately 10 lots before your requested lot

While every effort is made to execute telephone bids accurately, T & T Auctions Ltd accepts no liability for errors, omissions, or failure to connect.

2.5 Auction Platform

Our auctions are conducted live online via Easy Live Auction. By bidding through this platform, you also agree to their terms of use.

2.6 Payment

Payment is due promptly following the auction. We reserve the right to charge interest or take further action on overdue accounts.

2.7 Title & Risk

Ownership of goods does not pass to the buyer until full payment has been received and cleared. Risk may pass earlier where goods are collected or shipped.

2.8 Collection & Shipping

Buyers are responsible for arranging collection or shipping unless otherwise agreed. Packaging and postage may incur additional charges.

3. Vendor (Seller) Terms

3.1 Consignment Agreement

For first-time vendors, a contract is formed upon:

• Issuing of a Vendor Code

• Confirmation via a “welcome” email outlining agreed terms

By consigning goods, the vendor confirms legal ownership and authority to sell.

3.2 Valuations

All valuations provided are opinions based on current market conditions and are not guaranteed sale prices.

3.3 Reserves

Vendors may set a reserve price, subject to agreement with the Auctioneer. We reserve the right to decline unreasonable reserves.

3.4 Commission & Fees

Seller’s commission and any applicable fees will be agreed in advance and confirmed in writing.

3.5 Insurance

All items are fully insured by T & T Auctions Ltd once received into our care and while held on our premises or in transit arranged by us.

3.6 Unsold Lots

If a lot remains unsold, we will discuss options with the vendor, including re-offering, private sale, or return.

3.7 Payment to Vendors

Settlement to vendors will be made after the auction, once full payment has been received from the buyer, typically within an agreed timeframe.

4. Viewing

All lots are available for viewing strictly by appointment only at our offices near Tunbridge Wells. Appointments must be booked in advance.

5. Liability

While every effort is made to ensure accuracy in descriptions, catalogues, and representations:

• All lots are sold “as seen”

• Descriptions are statements of opinion, not guarantees

• The Auctioneer shall not be liable for errors or omissions

Buyers are encouraged to inspect lots prior to bidding.

6. Data Protection & Privacy

We collect and retain personal data solely for the purpose of conducting auctions and related services.

All data is handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws and our Privacy Policy.

7. Disputes & Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

8. Amendments

T & T Auctions Ltd reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated versions will be published on our website.
